A co-sign from J. Cole is quite the accomplishment. Currently, It’s an accomplishment BIA can proudly brag on.

Cole Sings Her Praises

BIA is taking in love from industry legends. Following her hit “Whole Lotta Money” featuring Nicki Minaj, she dropped “London” on April 8. The brand new also features seasoned chart-topper J. Cole.

“I Asked BIA to come through the studio for some whole other shit. First time meeting her. We chop it up,” Cole typed. “She plays me this new song she had just did. Mannnnnnn…She hit me recently and sent me the song (she musta knew I wanted to hear it again!!!) and I was just grateful to have it in my possession.”

Regardless of J. Cole’s high stature within the industry, he was apparently still anxious when recording his verse.

“I was excited but genuinely nervous cuz I didn’t even see how the song could be better after what she did to it,” he explained. “I didn’t want to fuck nothing up! I’m grateful I Ended up catching the right wave.”

He ended the caption by thanking BIA.

What To Expect From BIA’s “London”

“London” is a track produced by AzizTheShake, Jon Glass, and Tim with a booming presence and also a meticulous beat. Both BIA and Cole employ a British accent to compliment the name of the song. Remarkably, the “KOD” album rapper references several UK cultural staples.

“Splendid, got no limits, should have a tank on my pendant/Blokes goin’ broke tryna keep up with Cole, but I make it back soon as I spend it/Maybach tinted, ‘Excuse me sir, but ain’t that rented?”

BIA, of course, is no pushover. The 30-year-old rapper makes sure to hold her own.

“Louis Vuitton Cover My Toes/Throw On My Trousers, Look At My Bricks/These Are My Tennis, Look At My Shoes/Cream Hot Sauce In Sandals, Man’s Outside In Crocs, In Shambles (Damn)”

The stirring BIA’s and J Cole’s music video was filmed in several locations within the UK, including Shoreditch. The “For Certain” album emcee also namedropped the small district in the second verse.

“Maybe You Can’t Afford It/I’m With My Dawgs And We Out In Shoreditch (Shoreditch, Shoreditch, Shoreditch).”

Daps, the “London” music video director, has also worked with artists like The Migos, 2 Chainz, and Kendrick Lamar. From an impressive director to an even more remarkable guests artist, this Medford powerhouse is making 2022 her year.

BIA and Bad Gal RiRi

With J Cole and Nicki Minaj on her side, BIA is clearly here to stay. In addition to those accolades, Rihanna has also given the Massachusetts rapper some props. The Barbadian icon first acknowledged BIA back in 2019 when she collaborated with East Coast rapper Russ on “Best On Earth.”

“thank you @bia and @russ for my new fav song #BestOnEarth,” she typed in an Instagram caption. A steamy video of Rih accompanied the kind words.

BIA then responded ecstatically at the pop legend singing her praises as anyone would. “WTF IS LIFE” she typed.

Rih’s video was only one entry in the #bestonearthchallenge, a viral trend that took off with the help of Bia and Russ’ song. Big influencers like Brittanya Ravazi and Katya Elise Henry also participated in the challenge. This helped the track skyrocket in popularity, then making it BIA’s first Billboard Hot 100 entry.

Indeed, BIA has done the work to become a superstar. This Puerto Rican princess is quickly on her way to leading the female rap pack along with Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion.
