#FMSports: Is J. Cole Preparing to go to the NBA?

After dropping some new music and partnering with Puma for their new basketball shoe line this month, J. Cole may have some more exciting, and wild, news for us. In an interview with TMZ, the legendary Master P, who has been both a prominent rapper and an NBA player, sat down and discussed the topic.

As the head of his record label, No Limits, former artist, and preseason player for the Hornets and the Raptors, Master P has been the only one of his kind up until now. Puma’s new commercial for their basketball sneakers features J. Cole tired on the court with Master P narrating as the voice in his head, questioning a decision that Cole seems to have made. After Master P shed some more light on it in the interview, it is easy to speculate that his decision in the commercial was to take a break from music and train to become an NBA player.

Their commercial dialogue between the two seems to have extended off-camera and into reality. After apparently speaking with Cole, Master P shared some of the advice that he gave the rapper and stated, “It’s gonna be a lot of hate, it’s gonna be a lot of people not believing in you but you know J. Cole… he got the right size, he in the gym… you’re gonna have to prove you’re worthy of being on that court. I believe in him and I believe that he’s a youngster that has a lot of desire.”

Hopefully, J. Cole does not put down music forever, but let’s see how far willpower and having a dream can take you.
