Recent reports indicate that J. Cole is heading to play hoops in Africa.

You heard it! Moe Dee is adding basketball to his repertoire. The news is that he will represent the  Rwanda Patriots in the new league. And the rumor is, he is already in-country preparing to play with the new season beginning next week. Many fans have been wanting to know what J.Cole is getting into during his music “Off-Season.” Well, now, here you have it!

Nevertheless, jumping into new terrain and excelling is not new for the hustle king.  Cole is an artist, rapper, musician, producer, label owner, and non-profit founder. Yes, the Jay-Z protégé is a beast! His credits include production contributions to artist mate Kendrick Lamar and R&B legend Janet Jackson. And in addition, his awards include multiple albums of platinum status. In 2014, “Forest Hills Drive” peaked at # 1 on the Billboard 200 and subsequently went 2x platinum. His followers are expecting nothing less but the best from the “Born Sinner” rapper with this move. 

Undoubtedly, Cole has got this! He understands the fundamentals of the game. It is widely known that before taking the stage, Cole took to the court. So, this venture is merely a transition back to something he already knows. In Moe Dee’s words,

“I was always in love with basketball as a kid…!”

So, this opportunity is a dream of a lifetime. Incredibly, fans are getting to share in that dream. But the wait may be just a little longer. Sources say the news will go official Thursday, May 13th. As the first game will be Sunday with the Rwanda Patriots vs. Nigeria River Hoopers.
