Jacquees gave his all when performing the National Anthem yesterday. But fans seem to disagree. The reason stems from the R&B singer’s excessive runs and overall tone. Most said they would’ve enjoyed his delivery if he focused less on enunciating the lyrics.
“Jacquees singing the national anthem has me in tears man. That n*gga singing in bullet points,” One Twitter user wrote.
Last month, Fergie caught heat for her performance as well. One Twitter user went on to say,
“i think it’s time we finally admit that not only was this performance of the national anthem by Fergie not only NOT BAD but it was performance art and the most camp interpretation of the song to date.”

Jacquees sang the National Anthem at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Friday. The Los Angeles Lakers requested his presence. He dedicated the performance to his grandmother, who passed away. Fittingly, it was also her birthday.
After the basketball game, the R&B singer hopped on Instagram to speak about this accomplishment. In one caption, he wrote, “My 1st time singing the National Anthem at the Staples Center R.I.P Kobe! S/o the whole @lakers squad.”
He also adds, “LA was Legendary….1 of them times I’ll never forget!”
