Jaden Smith May Play DC Superhero, Static Shock!

Jaden Smith seem to stay busy and at the forefront of attention in the industry. From constant appearances to celebrity shoutouts, Drake did it at Coachella weekend two, Willow and Jaden are looking to stay active.

Most recently was an unconfirmed, but quite realistically possibly true rumor, that Jaden will be acquired to play DC Superhero, Static Shock.

WB announced plans to develop the show last September, and Reginald Hudlin (Django Unchained) was set to produce it. The source of the speculation is Tyler James Williams, actor previously on Everybody Loves Chris, and currently on Walking Dead.

In a recent interview regarding his recent connection with Spider-Man he expressed, “…it’s great to see Static Shock is happening with Jaden.”

While WB nor Jaden and camp have given no confirmation, it is true that his mother, Jada Pinkett Smith is working with WB on the television show, Gotham and father, Will Smith has been having Superhero talks with WB.

Static Shock was created in 1993 and was meant to increase the number of African-American superheroes and comic authors. It features Virgil Hawkins, who gained electricity based powers through an accident and becomes Static Shock. The hero like Jaden is a teen, who happens to have a strong interest in ‘geek’ things and video games.
