It looks like James Harden is really itching for a trade. The NBA start was seen out in Drai’s night club instead of the Rockets practice, where he was scheduled to be. Harden has been out on the town recently, having also been spotted at Lil Baby’s birthday party, where he gifted the rapper with $100,000 cash and a $200,000 Richard Mille watch. When asked why Harden wasn’t at the team’s Sunday practice, head coach Stephen Silas had this to say:
“When stuff like this kind of happens where there’s a little indecision and stuff going on, I kind of take a step back and allow guys some space.” He went on to say, “From my perspective, my communication has been, ‘I’m giving you space,’ and that’s kind of where it’s been as far as my communication with him. Guys like that need that. They need to figure it out, and they don’t need someone banging on them all the time to kind of figure out where they’re at and whatnot.”
The Rockets star was due to report to individual training later but reportedly stayed back in Las Vegas. In his press conference, Stephen Silas deflected all questions concerning James Harden rumors, where he was also quizzed about Harden’s commitment.
Meanwhile, James Harden seemingly responded to everyone by posting a cryptic emoji to his Instagram story. The 31-year-old’s mother and agent also responded to a fan comment, suggesting that her son is doing what is right for his career and wants to win an NBA ring at some point in his career.
Harden reportedly wants to be traded to the Brooklyn Nets, where he would reunite with former Oklahoma City Thunder team-mate Kevin Durant and team up with Kyrie Irving and increase his chances of winning the NBA championship.
