JAY-Z Addresses Relationship with Kanye During an Interview with David Letterman
It’s been a longtime friendship and “beef” between JAY-Z and Kanye West, and at this point, we’re just like, “fix it already. It only takes a comedic David Letterman to get us the scoop on the JAY & Ye beef, plus some valuable insight from Mr. Sean Carter himself.
It’s hard to say what the reason was for the two celebrities’ fall out because there have been jabs thrown on both sides (some say), but their history all began with JAY taking Kanye under his wing. The breakup can probably date back as early as November of last year when West went on a rant at the end of the concert, spotlighting The Carter’s as part of the reason for his breakdown. I’m not sure if Bey had anything to do with it, but a few months later, the family was a no-show for the West’s March wedding. In the next month, listeners caught an earful in the release of JAY-Z’s 4:44 album, and in July Kanye announced his separation from Tidal, a JAY-Z entrepreneurial venture.
In a recent Interview with David Letterman, JAY-Z discussed the status of his relationship with Kanye after Letterman opened with, “Kanye West – are we friends, are we not friends?” In a true mature fashion, JAY politely pardoned whatever grievances the two had saying their relationship is similar to siblings and fall out’s happen: “That’s my brother, we’re beyond friends… The thing I respect about him is he’s the same person”. I’m not sure if that was JAY’s way of saying he’s stubborn, but I’m sure the love is still there on both sides.
