Barbadian superstar, Rihanna has always been in the eye of the entertainment industry. When first spotted by L.A. Reid, one of the industry’s biggest forces, he was not aware of Rihanna’s talent but was taken by her beauty as she stood outside somebody’s office. Jay-Z demanded that Reid meet this ‘girl’ – Rihanna.

In the year of 2003, producer Evan Rodgers noticed a characteristic in Rihanna that made an impact on who she is today.

Monica Fenty, Rihanna’s mom, did not see the special quality in her daughter the industry seen she only, “wanted to make sure that her schoolwork was done.” Following this comment was the Rihanna’s audition with Jay-Z – at the time who was the president of Def Jam. He heard her hit single “Pon de Replay” and instantly became found of the Barbadian superstar.

After Rihanna’s audition, Jay-Z was not letting her leave the premises without signing a contract. He gave her two options, “out the door or through this window.” Obviously, she did not choose the window!

Rihanna and her lawyers stayed up until three in the morning working on the details in the contract offered.

Today, Rihanna’s hit single “Work,” featuring Drake stays No 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the fourth week (Since March 26).
