Jay Z Makes Money Moves With Dom Perignon

Rapper Jay-Z continues to break barriers as a business man

LVMH’s Moet Hennessy has purchased 50% in Armand de Brignac, a champagne owned by Jay- Z. The rapper continues to make money moves outside of Hip Hop music. So far there have not been any discussion of the financial terms.

Jay-Z has invested into this brand since 2006. He shouted out the brand in a music video after having a fallout out with a rival brand called “Cristal”.  Jay-Z accused “Cristal” of racism after an executive of the brand mentioned that the rapper may cause harm to his image.  Jay-z initially bought Armand De Brignac in 2014, it ended up selling over $500,000 bottles worldwide in the year of 2019.

According to Billboard, “Carter said the partnership will help Armand de Brignac grow and flourish, noting Moet Hennessy’s track record of developing luxury brands like Dom Perignon and Veuve Clicquot. Moet Hennessy is the wine and spirits division of luxury goods company LVMH.”

“It is a partnership that has felt familiar the entire time,” Carter said.
