Get the Facts Straight Jay Z Paid
In 2013 Rapper Jay Z collaborated with Marina Abramovic of the Marina Abramovic Institute, a well respected Serbian performance artist.
The two came together to shoot a music video for Jay Z’s song Picasso Baby, with one agreement, that Jay Z would help her with her Institute for the study of performing arts. Fast-forward three years later, in an interview with Spike magazine, Abramovic spoke about being used by Jay Z.
“In the end it was only a one-way transaction. I will never do it again, that I can say. Never,” she said.
Well, after the entire world was informed that Jay Z fell short of his promises, an art dealer and producer on the video confirmed that Jay Z had indeed made a large donation.
The Marina Abramovic Institute left out an important detail 2 years ago. The reasons why the Institute failed to inform the artist of the donation has yet to be released.
The institute did however release a short statement, “Marina Abramovic was not informed of Shawn ‘Jay Z’ Carter’s donation from two years ago.”
The rap mogul has yet to comment.
