Joey Bada$$ just dropped his first solo album in almost 5 years titled “2000“. In the intro song The Baddest, Joey raps “Who the best emcees? Kenny, Joey, and Cole” confidently to start things off. This has sparked a lot of discussions online about how valid or not his statement is. While those three fit together quality/skill-wise well, many would argue that Drake easily holds the spot over Joey. There’s also that Joey’s too young to be considered as a part of that discussion, but he’s been in the industry for almost as long as the other three rap veterans. Listen to the song for yourself below:

Finally A New Album From Joey Bada$$

Fans have been patiently waiting 5 years for a new solo album from the Brooklyn artist. 2000 serves as a 10 ear follow up to his classic debut mixtape 1999. The album features appearances from JID, Chris Brown, Westside Gunn, Larry June, and Capella Grey. It also primarily keeps more of the traditional Hip-Hop sound that we know & love from Joey. However, the production has enough modern elements & quality mixing to keep the project sounding fresh. Overall, Joey makes a great effort at delivering one of the best albums of 2022 so far & proving to still have never disappointed his fan musically.

Who Is The Best Rapper Between The Three Veterans?

Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole & now Joey Bada$$ have all released new music in 2022 & shown off impressive rapping performances. With Cole still set to drop a solo album later this year, it’s curious to think about who the best lyricist is out of the three. Who do you think is the best rapper out of this group? And more importantly, would you want the three to make a collaboration before retiring? We’ve already seen Joey & Cole work together in the past, as well as Cole  Kendrick of course.
