Kanye West is reportedly going to headline Coachella’s 2022 music festival.

According to Variety, West will perform on both Saturday and Sunday night alongside Billie Eilish.

Kanye West Headlines Coachella For The First Time In 10 Years

The legendary Chicago rapper hasn’t headlined Coachella since 2011. Who can forget his performance there? Wearing a colorful silk Celine shirt and iconic red suit, he put on a stellar show to remember. That was over a decade ago, can you believe it? Allow me to refresh your memories:

Variety reports that the original headliners of this year’s festival include Travis Scott and Frank Ocean. However, it was postponed four times due to the pandemic. Scott’s set was canceled due to the events that occurred at Astroworld Festival 2021. Meanwhile, Ocean is now scheduled to perform at Coachella 2023.

Coachella, Interrupted

The annual Coachella festival is set to take place at Empire Polo Ground in Indio, Calif., as per usual. Despite reports of COVID-19 continuing its reign, the show will go on. It will take place on April 15 – 17 and April 22 – 24. Promoters originally scheduled the festival to take place on April 2020, then October 2020, then April 2021, then October 2021. The pandemic kept posing as an issue since it shows no signs of slowing down. Finally, they decided on the final dates that are posted on their website as of right now. So far, there have been no announcements made as to whether the official dates of Coachella are final.

Kanye’s Return to Coachella

Kanye West has a lot of material to cover at Coachella this year. He dropped his highly anticipated album DONDA, last year which is the perfect Soundtrack for his set. He has also had quite a few features since he last headlined the festival.

Fans and concertgoers are looking forward to what West has up his sleeve. We, at FM Hip Hop, sure it’s something great.
