Signs of Kanye West dropping a new album seem to be pouring out, indicating YEEZY Season is indeed upon us. In a post by fellow label member Pusha T on Monday, he announced that Kanye West is hosting an open-to-the-public listening event in Atlanta. The event will take place on Thursday, July 22, at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Those interested in attending can purchase tickets through Ticketmaster with prices ranging from $20 to $50 USD.
In recent years, West has held a number of high-profile album release parties. In 2016, he debuted The Life of Pablo at a Madison Square Garden fashion show. Back in 2018, he transported a slew of journalists and celebrities to Wyoming for his Ye listening party. Last Sunday in Las Vegas, West conducted a public listening for DONDA, where he previewed a new song with Baby Keem.
Kanye West sounds hungry again
The Chicago rapper also played the album for Kevin Durant and Revolt.TV’s Justin Laboy. Laboy tweeted his thoughts saying, “Kanye played his new album for me & @KDTrey5 last night in Vegas. Man listen! The production is light years ahead of it’s time, and the bars sound like he’s broke & hungry trying to get signed again. Any artist who plan on dropping soon should just push it back #Respectfully”
There’s no official release date for DONDA yet, but given how West promoted Jesus is King by organizing private listening parties and concerts before the album’s release, it’s possible that we’ll hear it this week in those to come. However, West is no stranger to delaying albums, so we shall see in the coming days if it drops soon.
Earlier on Monday, it was announced that West also had a hand in producing Lil Nas X’s latest single “Industry Baby,” which will be released on Friday, July 23rd.
