Kanye West Under Investigation Following Recent Incident In Los Angeles

Kanye West finds himself under scrutiny as he’s being accused of being a suspect in a battery assault case.

Kanye West is being investigated.

According to All Hip Hop, The Los Angeles Police Department is looking into the assault. It’s unclear if West was really involved or not, however, the rapper was involved in an altercation with a fan.

The LAPD investigates further into the situation involving West.

The LAPD investigates on Thursday, January 13th, around 3 AM, a fan had asked the artist for an autograph. The incident occurred in DTLA near the Soho Warehouse when Kanye was said to have punched the fan. The fan was believed to be a male and by the time police showed up, Ye was already gone. If convicted, the Donda rapper will face up to 6 months behind bars with a misdemeanor battery charge. As of right now, no arrests have been made.

Previously that evening, West and his new girlfriend Julia Fox were at club Delilah in WeHo, where he had left alone. The assault occurred at some point after leaving her. In a video reported by TMZ, Kanye screams, “Did y’all say that or not? Did y’all say that or not?” “Cuz that’s what happened right f****** now.”

Although Kanye West has some exciting plans for 2022 involving his Yeezy collaboration with Gap and his new documentary coming out, this wouldn’t be the first time the rapper faced some trouble with the legal system.

Back in 2008, West and one of his bodyguards were arrested when they smashed a paparazzi’s camera on the ground. Then in 2013, the rapper was charged with battery and attempted grand theft where he was once again in an altercation involving paparazzi. West’s case involved  250 hours of community service and also served two years of probation.

West’s team has yet to respond to this recent investigation, but by the looks of his past arrests, he may not be able to get out of this case so easily if convicted.
