Kevin Abstract Prepping to Drop ‘SIERRA NIGHTS’ With Ryan Beatty

Even with a new album from BROCKHAMPTON on the way, the hip-hop boy band’s frontman is not shying away from dropping more solo work. Last month, Kevin Abstract released a new single titled “SLUGGER” with features from $NOT and slowthai. The track appears to be the first single from an upcoming solo project by the Texas rapper. It will follow his 2019 album “ARIZONA BABY”.

Now, Abstract has announced that he has yet another single on the way. His next track, “SIERRA NIGHTS,” will release on August 18. It has a feature from California singer Ryan Beatty. A pre-save for the track has already been put up on his Twitter alongside the track’s cover art.

Yesterday, Abstract also decided to go ahead and drop a snippet of the song and its supposed music video.

It’s the latest in an interesting saga for Abstract and BROCKHAMPTON

In the midst of promoting his own solo work, Kevin Abstract has also been talking up what will be the last BROCKHAMPTON album ever according to a big GQ feature. It is expected to release this year. The group also released a full-length project with features from Danny Brown, A$AP Rocky, JPEGMAFIA, and more back in April.

The group’s frontman has also made headlines for joking about DaBaby and his recent homophobic comments that prompted an uproar from the LGBTQ+ community and allies. As an openly gay musician, he took to Twitter to note the irony behind his crew playing on the same stage as the controversial rapper during Lollapalooza. The festival ultimately removed DaBaby from the lineup.

With all the attention surrounding Kevin Abstract’s name, it makes sense for him to capitalize and keep his rollout going.
