Kid Cudi Breaks Record For Shortest Song On Billboard Hot 100

Kid Cudi’s “Beautiful Trip”, the 37-second opener to Man On The Moon III: The Chosen, has broken a new record. Charting at the 100th position, it became the shortest song ever to appear in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. The previous record holder was Piko-Taro’s 45-second “PPAP (Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen)”, which reached the 77th position in the Billboard Hot 100 in 2016. The brief introduction to the album features Cudi’s signature humming and a synth lead reminiscent of the previous openers to the MOTM series: “In My Dreams (Cudder Anthem)” from Man On The Moon: The End Of Day and “Scott Mescudi Vs. The World” from Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager

The third installment of the MOTM trilogy was released earlier this month to widespread fanfare and critical acclaim. The project debuted at #2 in the U.S. Billboard 200 and procured 9 tracks in the Billboard Hot 100, including “Beautiful Trip”.
