Kobe Bryant’s 2008 NBA finals jersey honored by the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
On Monday, the NMAAHC announced the LA Lakers Kobe Jersey now will now be apart of their gallery.

The Jersey was worn by Bryant in the 2008 NBA finals game 5 vs the Boston Celtics. The Celtics beat the Lakers in a 98-88 lead winning the 2008 NBA finals.
Kobe and Vanessa Bryant were avid supporters of the museum. according to NMAAHC, the Bryants’ donated between 1 million and 2 million dollars to the museum. Kobe urged people to attend the museum in 2016 when it first opened.
According to Dcist, the jersey was going to be placed in the museum after Kobe’s death in January. This plan was delayed due to the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
The National Museum of African American History and Culture reopened this past September in light of Covid-19.
