On the one hand, JAY-Z has expressed that he does not believe any rapper could hold it down against him in a Verzuz battle. Kodak Black, on the other hand, thinks otherwise.
On January 3, Kodak Black put out a public Verzuz challenge to JAY on Twitter. The terms were: “I’ll do a versus wit Jay Z “IF” he win he get 15 % of my catalog!” He then continued, “I win he make me Vice President of roc nation.”
Fans are going crazy over Kodak Black’s offer to JAY-Z!
One user replied to Black, “JAY-Z?? as in Hov, Jigga, Iceberg Slim, S. Carter, The God MC… THAT JAY-Z???”

Although many say JAY-Z would without a doubt win this battle, one fan took also Kodak’s side. They claimed, “Jay-Z’s best album was reasonable doubt. All his other albums were pop culture fodder.”

Snoop Dogg, T.I., Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes Juvenile, and Future have all toyed around with the idea of battling the legendary artist. For instance, Rick Ross once said in an interview, “Jay-Z… Yeah! Why not?” He also stated that the Verzuz battle is unique, bringing out the best in both parties. He then continued, “That’s a possibility, but I gotta give my flowers to the big homie. I got to. My homie gave me my first opportunity signing me to Def Jam Records, and he’s one-of-one.”
Also, in December, Lupe Fiasco chimed in to say he would like to see Jay-Z verse Lil Wayne in a battle. According to Hot New Hip Hop, Fiasco thinks the duo would make for an entertaining, well-balanced Verzuz Battle.
Meanwhile, Jay-Z has stated point-blank, “It’s not a chance in hell that anyone can stand on that stage with me.” At this rate, it seems unlikely fans will ever get to see JAY-Z step into the Verzuz ring.
