Kodak Black Teams With Rod Wave For New Song “Before I Go”

Early Friday, Kodak Black teased in an Instagram post that he and Rod Wave were working together on new music. Now, Kodak Black teams with Rod Wave to release “Before I Go,” a new gloomy melodic single from the two Florida rappers. The track along with a music video directed by Drew Filmed It were released the next day. The two rap about perseverance in the midst of conflict over production from Dyryk, RBP, Max Perry, and Vincent Tolan.

The music video flashes from funerals to swamplands with Kodak holding a vulture on his shoulder, and later images of a man fighting for his life in prison and a single mother struggling to support her kids. Some of the footage in the video is real footage of Kodak donating 100 air conditioners to his hometown neighborhood.  “We do it for the projects, we do it for the projects. The people relying on just enough cash to survive. We’ll get you all ACs man, we out here,” says Kodak.

Kodak Black spits poignant bars about how everyone he loves will eventually pass away, and he will be alone. Kodak Black teams with Rod as the duo rap sing about not being taken away from their children and money “before they go,” riding the pocket of the beat expertly.

“I’m in these waters, but I don’t know how to swim, got all these problems, but I don’t know how to deal with it. I miss my mama’s face, I’m still a kid, everything my mama say, I try to remember it…”

During his performance at this year’s Rolling Loud, Kodak revealed that a new project dubbed Halloween Bill Kodak is coming later this year. This Summer, Kodak Black has been flooding the streets with new music, and he doesn’t seem to be slowing down. So far this year, Kodak Black has gifted his fans two albums, “Haitian Boy Kodak” and “Happy Birthday Kodak.” In addition he has delivered with top-notch loosies like “Every Balmain,” “Last Day In,” and others.
