For over half a decade, Kyle Lowry and DeMar Derozan were one of the most likeable duos in the NBA. The two played together for the Toronto Raptors from 2012 until 2018. Not only did they play well together, but they were very close friends while in Toronto.
Derozan was traded to the San Antonio Spurs in order to bring in Kawhi Leonard. That move helped win Lowry an NBA championship in 2019.
Rumor has it that the two are now both interested in joining the Los Angeles Lakers. Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times broke the news this morning.
Coming off a first-round exit in the playoffs, LeBron’s Lakers are clearly looking to beef up their roster.
They’re part of a big offseason on the way
Both DeMar Derozan and Kyle Lowry are entering the offseason as free agents. The Lakers could grab them, but it will be difficult to make contracts and finances work out.
They join a huge list of big-name free agents which includes Chris Paul, Kawhi Leonard, and Mike Conley.
The Lakers are also reportedly interested in bringing back their former point guard Lonzo Ball.
