A detective has come forward alleging Tory Lanez shouted “Dance B****” before shooting Megan Thee Stallion, otherwise known as Megan Pete, in both feet. The chilling announcement has gained major media coverage, even prompting Lanez to apologize. So what happened?

Shedding Light on Unknown Events

Tory Lanez currently faces charges stemming from the July 2020 incident where he reportedly shot Megan as she fled his vehicle. The trial is underway, and LAPD detective Ryan Stogner had a damaging account to share when he took the stand. The detective recounted the interaction between Lanez and Pete prior to the shooting.

According to Stogner,

“as she [ Megan the Stallion] exited the vehicle, she heard Mr. Peterson [ Lanez] yelling obscenities at her, and he stated, ‘Dance, bitch!’ And then began firing a weapon.”

Talk about “gangsta.”

Basics of the Lanez and Megan Incident

We know Megan had an altercation with Lanez after a pool party. The incident led to the rapper allegedly shooting the H-Town Hottie in both feet. Reportedly Megan immediately felt pain in her feet, observed blood, fell to the ground, and then crawled to an adjacent driveway of a residence…She described her injuries as “bleeding profusely.”

Road to Trial

After the incident, police took Lanez into custody for concealment of a firearm, but he was swiftly released on a $35,000 bond. Later, on October 8, charges were formally filed. However, Lanez responded with a plea of not guilty on November 18, 2020.

Trouble Ahead for Lanez

With Detective Stogner’s new admission, the future doesn’t look so bright for Lanez. According to a source, Stoger’s testimony was vital in convincing the judge that the rapper should face felony charges. Nevertheless, Lanez has strong counsel, who reportedly did her job in trying to shift the narrative. According to Yahoo News,

“An LA Times reporter stated on Twitter that Lanez’s attorney “seemed to be hinting that another person in the car (a friend of Megan Thee Stallion) may have actually pulled the trigger.”

Could Megan’s Silence Help Lanez?

It doesn’t bode well that Megan didn’t immediately admit that Lanez was the one who shot her. However, Megan contends her decision to stay quiet stemmed from multiple reasons, one being an effort to avoid police violence. She stated:

I didn’t tell the police what happened immediately because I didn’t want to die. I don’t want the police to shoot me,” she said. “Even though he shot me, I tried to spare him. And ya’ll motherfuckers is not sparing me. That’s crazy.”

As it stands, if found guilty, Lanez stands to serve a maximum of 22 years and eight months. As the trial continues, FMHipHop will be sure to report all the latest.
