Lil Baby said, run it back!

While QC artist Lil Baby may be nice on the mic, the same can’t be said about basketball. Ahead of the NBA All-Star game, Baby, alongside fellow Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz, faced off against Qauvo and Jack Harlow in “Bleacher Report’s Open Run” charity basketball game. It was a fun event bringing hip-hop and basketball together for a great cause. $500,000 was donated to HBCUs by the end of the night.

While the pick-up game was trending on Twitter, much of its attention wasn’t because of the incredible basketball displayed. It was actually due to the social media commentary on Lil Baby’s game, or lack thereof. Despite having a former division 1 college hooper in 2 Chainz carrying the team, Baby played horribly. His performance included getting his shots blocked and shooting several airballs. They ended up losing by a score of 21-7.

“Lil Baby is hooping like Calvin Cambridge without his lucky Jordans, lol 😂😂😂😭😭😭,” a user joked.

At first, the ‘My Turn’ rapper shrugged off the slander on Twitter. He wrote, “Been put down that basketball to go see what the field like.”

Now, nearly two weeks later, he seems to have had a change of heart. On Sunday, Baby issued a rematch challenge on his Instagram story.

“Give me three months I’m setting one of [these] up,” he wrote above the video. “Y’all got em fucced up,” he wrote. 2 Chainz and Jack Harlow were also tagged in the story.

It’s more than likely there wouldn’t be any problem in making this happen. What’s more exciting is the attention from other hooper/rappers this 2-on-2 event garnered. Chris Brown took to Instagram applying pressure to the winning duo.

“They knew who not to ask for on that 2 on 2 basketball. I would’ve cooked Quavo and Jack! On my soul! Guess they wanted a smoke-free zone.”
