The word is out that Juice WRLD (@juicewrld999) has another posthumous album that will be coming out soon, and collaborator Lil Bibby (@lilbibby_) couldn’t help but spill the beans to the public.
The 21-year-old’s passing in December 2019 from an accidental overdose was a devastation for many. Goodbye & Good Riddance and his official debut album A Death Race For Love showed his talent and helped him create a substantial following.
Legends Never Die
After his passing, Juice WRLD’s first posthumous album was released, Legends Never Die. Although it was successful, hitting Number One in the UK album charts, many fans felt that the album fell short. Juice WRLD’s power was the connection he created with listeners through his experiences and the message he gave them in his songs.
When reviewing Legends Never Die, NME wrote “Despite the contagious nature of most of the tracks, that message is muted or left jumbled within a meandering album. Juice WRLD’s music came to life most when he made it seem like you were the only two people in the room like he was speaking directly to you, the listener. That intimacy is sadly missing here.”
What’s Next?
Even though there will never be another original project from Juice WRLD, we are excited to see what his team has put together for his second posthumous album. Many fans tend to fall in two groups about posthumous albums; Some see it as a wonderful preservation of memory for a great artist while others see it as a cold-hearted last attempt to make money off of the artist.
It seems as though Juice WRLD was able to record enough content before his passing, so fingers crossed that his team’s follow-up project is all we’re hoping for and manifest his original vision and message.
