Lil Durk Goes on Social Media Break Before Deluxe Launch
Lil Durk’s entry into the new year has been pretty amazing. His launch of “The Voice” is his best hit as of yet but it seems another is coming. He increased his show fee to $200,000, and has been appearing with Drake. He announced on his Instagram that he will be “off the internet” until the launch of the deluxe album. He also promises his fans that they will understand why he now charges $200,000 for appearances.
Lil Durk’s album “The Voice” was released on Christmas Eve and its still ranking high up to this day. In the first two weeks of the launch, there was an impressive 93,000 sales for the album. Usually, musicians tend to release albums on Friday as that generally attracts more of an audience but Durk took the risk and released it on Thursday. The numbers on the first day, 23,000 sales, were not as impressive as the numbers that followed the next day, 70,000.
Usually, album sales tend to wane off during the first week, but “The Voice” is still rakes in 45,000 sales this week. The emotional tribute from Durk to King Von is touching a lot of fans, and spreading the impact of the album.
Tekashi 6ix9ine wasn’t too happy with his rival’s success. But his sentiment could be the exact thing that drove up sales as fans were made curious about the album.
