Lil Durk posted his version of HipHop’s Top 50, and the Internet didn’t have it! Although he published the image on his Instagram page in August, it only came into the limelight recently after doing rounds on social media.
Indeed, the entries on the infamous list have sent many hip-hop fans and enthusiasts in a frenzy, with many disagreeing with Durk’s choices. The names include prominent industry personalities like Drake, Gucci Mane, Future, rap trio Migos, and Nicki Minaj. It’s encouraging to see him give credit to the new crop of talented rappers and successful ones like Juice WRLD, J. Cole, Megan Thee Stallion, Roddy Ricch, PnB, Kodak Black, and Tee Grizzley.
To be sure, it’s clear that Durk appreciates the various artists, as well as the different subgenres of Hip-Hop they excel in. However, some fans were dissatisfied by his failure to include Hip-Hop heavyweights such as Kendrick Lamar and Jay-Z.

Lil Durk making that top 50 list based on vibes and artists that he’s friends with being an inspiration to him as opposed to some dork shit like critical acclaim and “objective” quality of music. pic.twitter.com/VaQYDVA3Vh
