Last week, Lil Tecca hopped on Instagram to surprise fans with a photo of him without his trademark braces. The “Never Left” artist was known for having braces as a part of his look. Finally getting the braces off has been big news to his supporters.

Lil Tecca first gained fame in 2019 for his hit single “Ransom.” The song, which was a breakout success, peaked at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 in November 2019. In the music video for the single, the rapper is seen sporting braces in close-ups throughout the video. The braces instantly became a staple for a dorkier look, which helped create the famous image we all know now.

Cole Bennett, music video producer and frequent collaborator, took to the comments of the post to say it was “the end of an era.” Fans seemed to agree, despite the braces being a staple in the rapper’s image. $NOT, a fellow rapper, commented under the post, saying “It’s Big Tecca now.” Clearly, the change in image has drawn a lot of attention to the 18-year old rapper this week.
