Lil Uzi Vert and the late XXXTENTACION have spoken in the past. The two were both early visionaries in raps “SoundCloud” days. These connections led to a fan asking Uzi whether he would work with X, as the rapper bleached Adin Ross’s head on a Livestream.
“What are your thoughts on Jah XXXTentacion, and do you plan on hopping on an unreleased X track because Jah wanted to collab with you,” the fan asked via chat.
Unfortunately, the collaboration did not happen when XXXTENTACION was alive, but the rapper and his team contacted Uzi multiple times. Even though Uzi is and was willing to work on a song with X, he is worried about releasing the record. He said so while bleaching Adin Ross’s head on a Livestream.
“Yes, I do like him. He called me one time when he was incarcerated a long time ago. I was on tour with The Weekend. He called me, and he rapped a song for me that he never laid. It was really good, and I would love to do a song with him, but I’m weird on stuff like that.”
Lil Uzi Vert continued:
“I’m weird because I understand that they’re not here living. What if that’s not the vision that they want? Especially if they fucked with me, like, what if that’s all wrong? I’ll be pissed off if they did it all wrong because I’m not here, but you know. If it works out, it works out.”

Several fans respected the rapper’s words on Instagram and the Livestream. There have been several posthumous songs that many feel shouldn’t have come out. Recent dismal posthumous releases from Pop Smoke and Juice WRLD have shown how wrong things can go when an artist’s vision gets lost to corporate grief. Other examples include Tupac Shakur’s Loyal to the Game and Notorious B.I.G.’s The King & I.
