Rapper Lil Yachty (@lilyachty) has been arrested this month for speeding at 150 mph down an Atlanta Highway. Georgia state patrol troops spotted Lil Yachty (real name: Miles McCollum) in his white Ferrari weaving in and out of traffic near downtown on September 21st. Officers pulled the 23-year-old over near University Avenue and took him to the Atlanta City Jail. McCollum was charged with reckless driving and speeding in excess of maximum limits.
By the same token, the artist was spotted in June speeding down the same area in his red Ferrari. He eventually spun out of control and totaled the vehicle. At the time the roads were wet and McCollum was driving very fast, the combination of the two most likely leading to the accident, news outlets reported.
Since his release, he posted an Instagram photo saying “I’m not in jail”. In addition to his Instagram post, McCollum made a Tik Tok addressing the situation and telling viewers “Yeah it happened… Slow down kids”. In his words, “God forbid the mugshot comes out… pffff”.
