Giving us the old while making the new

It’s long been established that Logic’s retirement claims from 2020 no longer stand.  He seems to be up to something with his latest ‘Intro‘ track as well as the highly anticipated ‘MadGic‘ album with Madlib.  Stepping aside from his current labor, Logic has now released a collection of his old tracks on streaming.

The Maryland MC has a beloved mixtape series called ‘Young Sinatra.’  Like many great mixtapes, they’re not available on streaming.  This includes ‘Young Sinatra,’ ‘Young Sinatra: Undeniable,’ ‘Young Sinatra: Welcome to Forever,’ and ‘YSIV.’  While the latter of which came out on streaming in 2018, it’s still a necessary part of the collection.

Last night, Logic put out the ‘YS Collection Vol. 1.’  In a touching video, he excitedly announces the news of the album.  After having his some of his favorite works barred from streams, he’s thrilled to have them accessible to his fans.  ‘YS Collections Vol.1’ is a compilation of some of his favorite tracks from the whole ‘Young Sinatra’ series.

The second cut on the album contains a posthumous feature from none other than Frank Sinatra.  The tape is nice 14 tracks that effectively tell the story of the mixtape series and his progression throughout.  Most exciting is that its only Vol.1, and that there’s plenty more of his buried classics on their way to streaming.

Holding us over until…

With Logic gearing up to drop new music, we love to see him bring back some of his old work.  Not only is it a perfect way to build up the hype, but its clear just how much joy it brings him that his passion projects are now accessible to all.

Are you excited about this new care package?  Are you more excited for MadGic?  Either way, Bobby’s got enough old and new for all the fans to stay happy.
