Crazed fans seem to come along with the territory when you’re a celebrity. Well, Doja Cat experienced this at a new level as a fan called in a bomb threat in order to cut the line. Doja Cat was set to perform at a concert at the College Football National Championship. Unfortunately, for fans, ticket sales came to a screeching halt after the bomb threat.

“A fan wanted to advance in line so he exercised very poor judgment and told those around him in line he had a bomb in his backpack.” Deputy Chief, Joshua Barker, of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), said. “Someone did the right thing and alerted IMPD. The backpack was clean.”

“IMPD arrested a man who was trying to get through the security line for AT&T’s Playoff Playlist Live at Monument Circle. Nearby witnesses told police the individual said he had an explosive on him,” the police department tweeted. “IMPD officers responded, searched his bag and did not find an explosive.”

The police exercised bomb threat protocol and cleared the crowd for approximately 20 minutes while they investigated.

The gentleman who made the threat has yet to be named. Meanwhile, IMPD shared that he was arrested on unrelated charges.

Early entrance to concerts

There are a number of ways to gain early entrance at a concert. One can simply show up early to avoid long lines. However, some cases do not always allow one to show early enough. Below are some quick ways to ensure you make it in time for the show.

It takes a reported one and a half to two hours to get into a concert. Leaving bags at home could allow for a quicker entry. Concert-goers can pass through the “No Bag Express Lanes.” Since we live in a world where COVID-19 is present, vaccination cards are required to enter most concerts. Ensuring you have been tested with a negative result assists in swiftly moving the lines.

Some concerts also offer a “Skip The Line Pass.” Check with concert organizers websites to see if these golden passes are offered.

Safety is paramount at concerts and unfortunately, not everyone takes proper safety measures. Attendees attempting to gain entry to the Astroworld concert led to its unfortunate demise.
