Hours before Meek Mill’s newest album “Expensive Pain” will hit headphones around the country, the rapper dropped one final tease. Over the past month, Mill has showered the nation with teasers for his latest project. The album is set to release tomorrow, the first of October. As a conclusion to his month of shenanigans, Mill couldn’t help but showcase one final, major tease.

Mill has ensured that this album will be incredibly pervasive. He has launched a barrage of publicity stunts in the past month leading up to this big release. Plastered on everything from billboards to buses, “Expensive Pain” and its Cubism-style cover are recognizable around the country. Versions of the album’s artwork have been cropping up in major cities for the entire month, captivating fans.
Once Mill captured the attention of hip-hop fans nationwide, he enthralled their imagination by sharing a long list of prominent artists featured on the album. These foreshadowed collaborations include the likes of Moneybagg Yo,Young Thug, A$AP Ferg, and Lil Durk, encouraging fans to dream about what the rappers could produce together.
All the hype culminated into what fans thought was the grand finale: a promotional video, released on Twitter less than a week before the big day.
Meek’s extensive rollout shows no expense is too much for this album. In fact, it’s possible no one is as excited for this release as Mill himself, dubbing it one of his “best flows” on Twitter and calling for people to up their expectations 20 times.
What ever you expect out of me as a artist … I’m tryna give you that times 20 on expensive pain 💎
But it seems the hype artist himself couldn’t handle anymore mystery. On the eve of the albums release, in what appears to have been a feverish scrabble, Mill dropped the entire tracklist for the album on his Instagram. Mill hand-wrote all 17 song titles on a plain piece of paper and posted it for the public to ponder. He also included the names of the collaborators scribbled in the margins next to the songs they contributed to. This was a brilliant move, tying together the previous promotions and allowing fans to further speculate on the content of each individual song.
