Meek Mill has been all over the news lately for his powerful “Other Side of America” song, donations in the wake of George Floyd’s death and his beef with DJ Akademiks, but now he has something else to put all of his time into. The Philadelphia rapper is being sued for stealing lyrics for his songs “Cold Hearted II” and “100 Summers.”

The Philly based label, Dream Rich Entertainment, is suing Meek for $300,000 in reparations for allegedly ‘running off’ with some of their lyrics. Both songs appear on his Grammy-nominated album, “Championships”, so its no wonder why the original songwriter, contracted with Dream Rich Entertainment, would want some credit for his successful work.

According to the label, Meek had access to the songwriter’s files which included the two tracks in question. It is unclear if he stole the entirety of the songs or converted small parts of them, but either way, if it’s true, some sort of action needs to be taken against the rapper. As of today, Meek Mill, Dream Chasers Records, and Atlantic Records all stand accused of civil conspiracy to commit copyright infringement.
