It’s undisputed: Nicki Minaj, Megan Thee Stallion, and Doja Cat are the three female rappers that have dominated the game since they stepped on the scene. Unlike female rap stars of the past like Lil Kim and Foxy Brown, the trio has never bumped heads publicly. However, it looks like that might change soon. Megan Thee Stallion surprisingly unfollowed both Nicki Minaj and Doja Cat on Instagram earlier this week (Jan. 25)

Speculation has risen among fans of Nicki Minaj, Meg Thee Stallion, and Doja Cat after the unexplained unfollowing. Particularly, rumors fly of Doja and Megan having bad blood over a denied collaboration. Allegedly, French Montana has initially planned to recruit Megan Thee Stallion for ‘Handstand’ instead of West Coast artist Saweetie. According to this unconfirmed rumor, Doja wasn’t interested in sharing the track with the ‘Savage’ rapper. As of now, none of the above artists have confirmed or denied the rumor.

As for Nicki Minaj and Meg Thee Stallion, there have been several instances of fans taking the “hot girls” actions as a shade against the New York rapper. A few months ago (Oct.9), Megan also tweeted a cryptic message after Nicki Minaj appeared as a guest host on Real Housewives of Potomac. A few hours after the episode aired on Bravo, Meg typed: “You fell off…period.”

Megan Thee Stallion continued with the taunt, saying, “I’m too childish for these apps [laughing emoji] if I tweeted what I wanted y’all would cry [laughing emoji].”

It’s unclear whom those tweets referred to, but it certainly raised some eyebrows. Earlier that year, the “hottie” caught attention from Nicki Minaj fans for excluding her verse on ‘Hot Girl Summer‘ during her Rolling Loud set (Jul. 26). ‘Hot Girl Summer,’ featuring Nicki and Ty Dolla Sign, was an early hit for the Houston rapper and clearly indicated her newfound star status back in 2019. While it’s odd Nicki’s verse was cut, no noise was made from either artist on the matter.

Fact or fiction?

What’s especially strange about Megan Thee Stallion unfollowing her industry peers is that all three have collaborated in the past. Megan Thee Stallion And Doja Cat had no problem sharing the spotlight on Ariana Grande’s ’34+35′ remix in January last year. Doja and Nicki joined forces on the ‘Say So’ remix in 2019, earning the duo a number 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 that year.

While rumors continue to circulate, some noticed Megan Thee Stallion’s follower count is lower overall than it used to be. Since cleaning out the following list is common for Instagram users, many fans are simply waving it off as a nonissue.

Regardless of any alleged behind-the-scenes feuds, Megan Thee Stallion is continuing to flourish. Meg’s following list is likely the least of her worries, with plenty of tour dates in the upcoming months.
