Hip Hop legend MF Doom has passed away according to a statement released by his family today.
In an Instagram post on MF Doom’s Instagram page, there is an image of the late rapper accompanied by a message written by his wife, Jasmine. The message reads “The greatest husband, father, teacher, student, business partner, lover and friend I could ever ask for. Thank you for all the things you have shown, taught and given to me, our children and our family. Thank you for teaching me how to forgive beings and give another chance, not to be so quick to judge and write off. Thank you for showing how not to be afraid to love and be the best person I could ever be. My world will never be the same without you. Words will never express what you and Malachi mean to me, I love both and adore you always. May THE ALL continue to bless you, our family and the planet.”
The statement also says that Doom, real name Daniel Dumile, passed away on October 31st. This unfortunately follows the death of Dumile’s son, King Malachi Ezekiel Dumile in 2017. Daniel Dumile was 49.
MF Doom’s work as both a producer and rapper cemented him as one of hip hop’s most towering figures. His solo albums such as Operation: Doomsday and Mm..Food along with his collaborations such as Madvillainy represent a discography that few others can match. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
