First Lady Michelle Obama attended the annual Black Girls Rock! event on Saturday to celebrate trailblazing black women and honor them. Mrs. Obama gave a heartfelt speech to empower young black girls and recognize women of color.
The event was held at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, NJ where many artists such as Jada Pinkett Smith, Erykah Badu, Estelle, and Ciara were among those who attended the event.
