According to various sources, this album has been in development for quite some time. But that is not unexpected, given the time between Jenkins’ other full album releases. But to fan’s delight, the wait for the finished product is now over. A few days ago, Mick took to social media, announcing the completion of the album he’s been working on. And since the groundwork has been laid, the only thing left for fans to do is to maintain the hype until the project’s release date.
Mick keeps it moving, for sure.
The Chicago MC currently has two full-length albums under his belt. And this new album will follow the 2018 release of his seventeen-track album “Pieces of a Man.” A bit of time has passed since Mick put out a full-length album. But he has not stopped putting in work. In addition to 2020’s “The Circus” EP, Mick has released several singles released in the interim. The announcement of this album also follows the release of two 2021 single releases. The first single, “Designer Frames,” was released on SoundCloud. And the second to be released was “Truffles,” which explored the complexities of current social issues and ills in the Black community.
New album details are still unclear.
There is speculation that the new album may expand on the concepts touched in his 2020 EP release, The Circus. According to a 2020 hotnewhiphop.com article by Mitch Findlay, “At the time, he[Mick] spoke of continuing the narrative of The Circus and expanding the concept.” But there is still a cloud of mystery surrounding this new album. So it is equally likely that the new project may go in an entirely new direction. And despite the announcement of completion, there was no mention of the album’s title. Nevertheless, the album’s release is highly anticipated. And fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief, as part of the wait is over.
