Tory Lanez dropped “Mucky James” on Saturday. People are now reading Lanez’s case with Megan Thee Stallion into the new composition.
The lyrics of “Mucky James” talk about Lanez’s life and how he feels. He talks about the trap within his head. He feels like the entire world is waiting for him to fall. However, he is getting to the point where he no longer cares what everyone else is saying. He is just going to say what he wants to say.
People are reading between the lines. They think the rap is about Tory’s case with Megan Thee Stallion because of a couple of choice lines throughout the song. Tory was reportedly “blackballed for money” and should stop talking about it, but he is only human.
However, that might not be the case. It could just be that Lanez is in an inadequate mental space and tries to reach out. Tory himself also does not like the plausible interpretation of the song. He has more sense than to talk about his court case.
I am not talking about my court case on the song #MuckyJames …. I see all these blogs trying to connect the two … and honestly I have more sense than that . I would not play with the court order or the judge like that … please stop that narrative .
For those that don’t know what the case is about, Tory Lanez is suspected of shooting Megan Thee Stallion’s foot in July 2020.
Megan got a restraining order against Tory since then. Lanez legally can’t approach or contact her. He also can’t share any pretrial information from the case.
That is the reason he doesn’t like that reading of the song. He is afraid that the judges would see it and think he is trying to skirt their rulings again. Lanez had already evaded the verdict once. He had tweeted things targeting Stallion; the court just released Tory on bail since the incident. Lanez would probably not want to risk so soon.
