Nick Cannon’s “Wild ‘N Out” is finally coming back to our television screens, airing on Vh1 next month.
According to Deadline, the hit improvisational comedy show will return to VH1 on April 6 with new episodes from the second half of Season 15. These episodes were reportedly shot before the pandemic began. Special guests such as Juvenile, Da Brat, Rapsody, MC Lyte, Queen Naija, Big Tigger, OMB Peezy, FABO, Young Joc are all set to make appearances.
The last episode of “Wild ‘N Out” appeared on VH1 last April after Cannon faced backlash for making comments that most Hollywood gate-keepers were anti-Semitic on his “Cannon’s Class” podcast. The remarks also caused Viacom to part ways with the star.
“Our melanin is so powerful and it connects us in a way that the reason why [white people] fear us is because of the lack that they have of it,” Cannon previously said. “When you have a person that has the lack of pigment, the lack of melanin, they know that they will be annihilated. So, therefore, however they got the power, they have the lack of compassion — melanin comes with compassion, melanin comes with soul.”
Nick Cannon also stated:
“It’s never hate speech, you can’t be anti-Semitic when we are the Semitic people. When we are the same people who they want to be. That’s our birthright. We are the true Hebrews.”
After Cannon took responsibility for his comments and reached out to several members of the Jewish community to educate himself on the topic, he and Viacom reconnected and made plans to revive his popular improvisational show.
“Nick has not only apologized and taken responsibility for his comments, but he has also worked to educate himself and others through engagement with Jewish leaders and on his platforms,” an MTV Entertainment Group spokesperson told Variety. “Those efforts are of the utmost importance and that’s why we have invited him to rejoin our team.”
