Today the world mourns the tragic death of another AstroWorld concertgoer, nine-year-old Ezra Blount.
Ezra Blount, the latest fatality, reportedly succumbed to his injuries on November 14 of 2021. According to the most recent coverage, the young boy’s grandparents found Ezra in the hospital following the event.
“Ezra’s grandparents said they later found him alone at the hospital in a coma, suffering from significant organ damage and severe brain swelling.”
And sadly, his injuries were too detrimental for his body to recover.
In the Aftermath of Tragedy.
In such times, it is hard to fathom how an event that was the fulfillment of a wish could end so tragically. According to a source, Ezra Blount idolized Travis Scott.
“His father said the rapper was one of his son’s favorite artists.”
So, like any doting father, he took his son to experience the hip-hop artist in action. But despite efforts to avoid the crowd, the young boy and his father were the victims of a most egregious incident.
The Events Surrounding Ezra Blount’s Death.
Reportedly the father had the young boy on his shoulders when the crowd began to surge. And soon, he lost consciousness leaving him and his son at the mercy of the other concertgoers. Sadly, the boy’s father, Treston Blount, recollects pleading in agony at one particularly horrific moment,
“I’m yelling out, ‘I can’t breathe!’
said the boy’s father before losing consciousness.
Tragically, when the elder Blount came to, he could not find his son! And upon locating Ezra’s whereabouts, the son’s health status was critical. Painfully Treston relay’s
“Just to see him in that condition. I just wasn’t ready for that.”
What’s Next for Ezra’s Family?
The family is now seeking restitution for the untimely death of their son. In fact, the family is reportedly joining several others in filing a lawsuit against the organizers of the Astroworld event. For as a source notes, the family is suing for the gross negligence leading to Ezra’s severe injuries.

With Ezra’s death, the tragic toll of victims now stands at 10. And undoubtedly, due to the nature of this course of events, one question remains, what does Travis Scott have to say about the incident?
Well, one source reports that Travis Scott has offered a public apology to victimized concertgoers,
In Scott’s words, “He is absolutely devastated by what took place.”
But that is not all the artist is doing to provide absolution. Scott is also offering to pay for the funeral expenses of the victims.
Today, many are demonstrating their support to the Blount family, including Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner.
And so today, our sincerest condolences go out to the Blount family, who finds themselves amid a tragedy that they should never be suffering.
