Georgia Senator Stacey Abrams has been nominated for the coveted Nobel Peace Prize. The former lawyer and activist has proven again that she is an unstoppable force. Her accomplishments are endless. And finally, she is receiving due recognition. Undoubtedly, she deserves this nomination as her life is one of service. She centers her passions on the voiceless and disenfranchised. Her community projects “Fair Fight” and “Fair Count” underline that passion. Standing on a self-made stage, she has the experience to push that change to do more good than not.
To her record, she has more than a decade of service in the house of representatives. Additionally, her platform for justice, equality, and voting reform fuel her desire for political change. Her “Southern Economic Advancement Project,” stands as proof of that passion.
Stacy Abrams is a bonafide trailblazer…
Stacey breaks glass ceilings. She was the first black woman to be the gubernatorial nominee for a major party in the United States. She ran with poise and grace. Furthermore, she is also the first black woman to stand in response to the state of the union, post 2018 election. But unsurprisingly, this is not Abram’s first honor. She is also a former recipient of the John F. Kennedy New Frontier Award.
Even though a nomination does not guarantee a win for the distinguished Nobel Peace Prize, there is doubt Stacey has put in the work. Her efforts will never go unrecognized. She is a giant amongst giants, and we eagerly await the results in October.
Win or lose. Congratulations are in order!
