Yesterday some New York pedestrians were surprised when met with a life-sized representation of Notorious B.I.G.
Some fans were hype and in awe of the representation while others felt it was a little too real and weird. The best way to sum up the reactions is mixed.
Love and Passion Never Dies
Over two decades ago, the world lost one of its hip-hop royals, Biggie Smalls. Not a year goes by that Biggie’s life, and contributions are not celebrated. Only a month ago would have marked half a century that the prolific artist would have been with us if he were still here. Due to the monumental occasion, his friends and loved ones amped up the celebration. What more does one expect from people who loved you with enduring passion?
Memorial to Notorious B.I.G
One of the impressive memorials was a holographic image of the performer created by Proto Inc. So what skin does this company have in the celebration of a hip-hop icon? Well, it is noted that Sean Diddy Combs holds a seat as an advisor. And it’s no secret how close Diddy was to Biggie. Diddy, when possible, doesn’t do anything small. He is known for putting on a show. So a display of such nature is no surprise. However, It was an unexpected sight to a few of the everyday pedestrians.
Notorious Dressed to Impress: In the Afterlife
According to a source, he was as stylish an icon in the metaphysical as he was when he walked the streets, if not more so. Not surprising since in one of his iconic lyrics, he talks about being clad in Coogi down to his socks. This time the life-sized representation is said to be dressed to the nines in Sergio Tacchini, a signature tracksuit. Admittedly that is classic Notorious. And to add to the flair, he was fitted with some Air Jordan’s offset by some stand-out accessories, cementing the fact he will be immortally fly.

Flyness or not, large life-like representations of dead people freak some people out. One individual who caught a glimpse of the hologram had this to say,
“Biggie Hologram scary. I thought that nigga was gonna say “ Baby Babyyyyy “

One’s got to admit that’s hilarious.
Holographic Representation of Biggie a Marker of Things Ahead?
While we are not exactly walking around admiring holographic images of our favorites on a regular, it’s not exactly a new thing either. 2Pac’s image has also been immortalized as a holograph but, of course, not everyone was privy to that information. Some things take a while to get used to, like life-like images of dead artists despite their iconic status. However, if anything, the hologram made an impression. People will be talking about this for a while. Given what was seen on the streets of New York a day ago, who knows what’s up ahead.
