Logan Paul vs. Mayweather Goes the Distance

To the surprise of much of the boxing world, Logan Paul vs Mayweather went the distance. Logan Paul boxed all eight rounds with Floyd Mayweather. Most viewed Paul as the underdog for this bout and expected Floyd Mayweather to make easy work of the YouTube star. While Paul was out-boxed by Mayweather, the fact that he did not get knocked out by one of the greatest of all time will earn him props from boxing fans everywhere.

The first round was mostly uneventful. Although, Logan Paul had success in the second. Unofficially, Paul won that round, with the rest of the rounds going to Mayweather. Ultimately, spectators scored Logan Paul vs Mayweather 78-74 for Mayweather. However, this score is not considered official because there were no official judges, and the Florida State Boxing Commission did not sanction the fight.

Paul’s Size Saved Him

Paul was able to survive the fight by using his size against the much smaller Mayweather. Paul, 6’2” 189 lb, tied up with the 5’9” 155 lb Mayweather, which neutralized the speed of Mayweather. In the end, though, Mayweather’s experience and talent prevailed. The 44-year-old boxer landed many more significant shots, while Paul spent much of his time swinging wildly at Mayweather while landing few significant shots.

Paul Gets Respect

Many thought that Paul was on a quest for publicity by taking the fight against Mayweather. But, in the end, he showed that he is taking his boxing career seriously. He stepped into the ring against one of the best professional fighters and held his own. Both Logan and Jake Paul have proved that they deserve their place in the ring. Those of us waiting for one of them to get destroyed in a boxing ring will have to wait a little longer. These guys are improving at a fast pace. The Paul brothers are slowly starting to earn their respect in the boxing world.
