Why Would a Police Officer Pull Out a Gun at a Pool Party?

A Texas police officer was placed on administrative leave after a video surfaced online showing him man handling a teenage girl and even pulling a gun out on some other teens.

The seven minute long video captures a group of teens scattering around the street after police arrived and after a few minutes it shows the officer aggressively throwing the young girl around on the ground face down while pinning her down with his knees.

The officer, identified as Police Cpl. Eric Casebolt, then pointed his gun at two teenage boys who appear to try to help the girl.

McKinney Police Chief Greg Conley said three officers responded to a complaint that several teenagers refused to leave after being denied permission to use the pool.

More officers were dispatched after the size of the crowd increased in the streets. The girl who was restrained in the video, Dajerria Becton, said she followed police orders. He told me to walk away and I did. Next thing I know I’m on the ground,” she said.

McKinney Mayor Brian Loughmiller assured many frustrated residents that the city staff and police officials will conduct an investigation into Officer Casebolt’s actions.
