No Malice’s and Pusha T’s father, Gene Elliott Thornton Sr., recently passed away. The reason for Thornton Sr.’s passing is currently unknown to the public at this time.
Most of us can relate to losing a loved one, especially after the past two years.
The World Learns Gene Thornton Sr. Passed Away
Pusha T announced his father’s passing through an Instagram post. Pusha was also the first to tell the world about his father.
The rapper posted pictures of his father, his son, and himself sharing intimate moments together. Under the photographs then were words of love for his dad.
“I love you Dad,” Pusha captioned. “You taught me to remain poised, to always be calculated, to be prideful, and to respect hustle and hard work but to know the difference between the two. I am who I am because of you and I’ve always been proud to be your son. We are all gonna miss you… R.I.P. Gene Elliott Thornton Sr. P.S. We all know what this is abt, kiss my mom…”
Condolences poured out after the post was published. People like Fabolous, Jadakiss, Bun B, Busta Rhymes, Pharrell, Styles P, and also Big Daddy Kane all showed love.
Another Brother Speaks
No Malice also took the time to post a picture of his mother and father. This is the only post on his Instagram. The post also included sentimental words.
“You told me Psalm 34:19 was your favorite verse. Right now, I clutch it with both hands. We all love you dad. You were everything a father is supposed to be. ‘Many are the afflictions of the righteous: But the LORD delivereth him out of them ALL.’ Psalm 34:19 KJV #TogetherAgain #Jesus #Salvation.”
Mildred Thornton, the mother of Pusha T and Malice, passed away just 4 months before their father. Losing one parent is hard enough but losing both parents months apart makes the loses that much more difficult to deal with.
My deepest condolences goes out to the family and I pray for their strength through this difficult time.
