Pusha T’s got some deep sentiments about the contentious relationship between Cudi and Kanye. As the performer expressed in a Vulture interview in considering himself to have a connection to both, in his opinion, their strained expression is a bad look.
Cudi’s Current Sentiments
Kid Cudi and Kanye, once friends, have since ended their friendship over bad blood. Cudi made it clear that he is no longer interested in being in a friendship with the Donda artist,
“So, I know some of you heard about the song I got w Pusha. I did this song a year ago when I was still cool w Kanye. I am not cool w that man. He’s not my friend, and I only cleared the song for Pusha cuz that’s my guy.
Can anyone blame him?
Down the Rabbit Hole: Strife Between Cudi and Ye
The account goes that Kanye cut ties with Cudi over the artist’s relationship with Pete Davidson. In the act of what can be seen as pure vitriol Ye cut Cudi from the Donda project for that very reason. The relationship between Cudi and Ye hasn’t been the same since.
Pusha T.’s Summation of the Debacle
Pusha T believes that the actions of the two are a shame. He who counts himself as a friend to both had this to say,
“Just navigating these relationships, this brotherhood, the arguing … it gets public. It’s one thing for us to argue. We all argue — that’s not a problem. It gets out there, whether it’s Ye bickering first, or Cudi coming back with what he says. It’s super–f—ed up.”
And we get that.
Cudi’s Final Exchange Says It All
Looking at the exchange between the Ye and Cudi and Cudi’s latest sentiment, it doesn’t appear the two will be on good terms for a long time. In clear-cut terms, in promoting Rock and Roll from the Almost Dry Album, Cudi ended with the statement he was done with Ye.
“This is the last song u will hear me on w Kanye.”
Pusha T’s Speaks with Validity
Pusha T.’s sentiments do not go unshared. It is a travesty when brotherhoods disintegrate. Unfortunately, it’s a thing of life; things fall apart. However, it is always surprising when the relationship seems particularly strong. In this case, T.’s words best sum it up,
“it “f—ing sucks.”
