In 2001 at nine years old, Rhuigi immigrated with his family from the Philippines to Los Angeles. His early lessons in English were from playing and watching basketball games. Villaseñor claims that Allen Iverson and Kobe Bryant were his first teachers on swagger and lifestyle.

Rhuigi also gives credit for his upbringing to his mother who was a tailor. He watched her create costumes and clothes for his family. Seeing pieces being created from scratch by his mother and with a love of culture and art he began to generate his own passion to design the world as he saw.

LA, Americana culture has shaped and molded the brilliant young mind of Rhuigi and it is evident in his designs. Pieces from Rhude collections are designed from a “narrative standpoint, and is a reflection of modern and socioeconomic and personal stories.” Rhude showcases nostalgia of American pop culture and Los Angeles culture.

2019’s debut in Paris Mens Fashion Week put the brand in a new and bigger light. Without a doubt  Rhude if not already is on its way to becoming the brand everybody has to own.
