It’s Been Confirmed: Raven-Symone Lands a Permanent Seat on “The View”
If you haven’t had enough of Raven-Symone’s no holds barred commentary, and unpopular opinions, then you are in luck. Yesterday, it was announced that Rave, who had been temporarily co-hosting ABC’s daytime talk show The View, is now a permanent host.
The actress made headlines a while back after controversial statements in which she compared the first lady’s physical appearance to that of an ape, and it seems like the statement along with many others won her a slot at her newest gig.
According to ABC, Raven says the time she spent out of the spotlight prepared her for her position at The View.
“Those three years took off every single piece of dead skin that had been growing on me that I had not been able to shed because I was still in the public view,” she told ABC News Wednesday. “From [ages] 3 to 25 [I worked]. I said, ‘That’s a lot of gunk on top of me.’ Purged it: Sat in my house, went to school, traveled, fell in love. Just did what I needed to do. And now I’m able to be myself, and not a brand that was concocted to sell something. Now I’m who I want to be in the public eye.”
Raven was called in as a co-host after Rosie O’Donnell left the show due to conflict behind the scenes. How did she celebrate the good news? Raven says she had a glass of champagne with the entire crew.
