Watch: Rell – “The Bad Guy”

Bronx-based rapper Rell has officially dropped his first-ever single titled “The Bad Guy.” Like the title reads, Rell spits straightforward bars about being labeled as a bad guy because of how he fends for himself. But, he simply doesn’t care about the opinions because, at the end of the day, he’s got to make sure that he and his loved ones are straight. Sonically, the track is a hip-hop offering that’s led by playful piano loops and a flute percussion.

At the same time, Rell asks for assistance. Internally, he feels like there are not many individuals in his corner.

I need some help/Won’t somebody come and get him,” the artist delivers in an auto-tune cadence. He also spits, “Nightmares everybody tryna kill me.”

Throughout “The Bad Guy,” Rell drops a P.S.A for opps who plan to make a sneak attack on him. The budding star even lists the people who have been there from the jump. Considering all these points, we can concur that Rell is always thinking ahead and isn’t fazed by the phonies or fakes. Like he states in the song,

“It’s my year/I’m gon make these n*ggas feel me/You die here/Tell your honor that I’m not guilty.”

The music video, directed by Ope Visualz and Vargas Visuals of Final Focus Films, finds Rell on the move with his ride-or-dies, spitting heat from the crib, and speaking his piece while standing in front of what seems to be strobe lights.
