Founder of Maybach Records, Rick Ross doesn’t shy away from his success. The ‘Teflon Don’ recently grabbed headlines when he went on record about the million he once spent on a house, simply to drive by it.
For some, this seems a bit much. And one must admit that a mil is a large sum to spend to drive by a house. But to be honest, Ross has made it known that he isn’t afraid of spending the money he earns. Just check out his 2010 single ‘B.M.F.’
Ross on Pursuing a Dream
But, despite the outlandish nature of this purchase, there is substance behind his rationale. In a candid interview, Ross mentions how real estate was always a passion of his.
“Homes was something I was always fascinated about.”
So, when he got the funds to fulfill a dream, he did.
Ross’s Investment
Rick Ross has put in the time and effort for his come-up. He’s been on his grind since 2006. And according to last.fm, his first release rose straight to the top of Billboard 200. And since his debut, he has put out at ten studio albums. What’s more, he sits at the helm of a well-performing label, responsible for signing Pill, Meek Mill, and Wale, according to last.fm
Assets over liabilities
So, who can blame Rick Ross? While some may guffaw at the purchase, making dreams a reality is a big part of the pursuit of success. And according to Ross, he still has ownership of that home, which makes it an asset.
In his words,
“I bought a million-dollar home maybe two minutes from here that I still own that’s right around the corner just so I can ride by it every day while I’m in Atlanta….”
And with a net worth of 45 million, he can afford it.
On this one, kudos to Ross for putting in the work to make his dreams a reality.
