Today marks the day Roddy Ricch’s fans have been waiting two very long years for. Today Ricch’s Live Life Fast dropped, getting his followers’ extra hype. However, things didn’t go over quite well. After listening to his latest release, many are giving Ricch the side-eye.
What Exactly Was the Response to Ricch’s Release?
According to hotnewhiphop, there were some brutal reactions. One listener said this,
“N**** this ain’t Roddy Ricch on this album that’s Robby Brokke.”
And another disappointed fan said this,
“Roddy Ricch took two years to give us this lackluster album; I’m sick.”
What is believed to have added to the sentiment is the buildup. The artist had been building up his album release for some time now. And hotnewhiphop indicates before the drop; he got on social media with a bold promise, “a no skip policy.” But, of course, that’s only one thing that kept fans high with anticipation. In addition, the lineup of featured artists was so impressive the followers were boosted.
Is Ricch’s Album That Bad Though?
Some of Ricch’s followers say the release is not as bad as some say. Yet, apparently, the album is just not great. In fact, one listener broke down the reaction like this,
“Roddy Ricch album is so frustrating because it’s not a bad album at all, but we all know Roddy is capable of so much better.”
This follower may have a point; after all, quality is different for each listener. Not everyone can put out bangers with every release. Furthermore, reportedly Live Life Fast has some fire tracks getting a lot of attention.
What’s The Overall Take
With that said, evidentially, this album is not for everybody. And should it be? Some are digging the album, like one fan who said this,
“People are tearing apart this Roddy Ricch album. I f***** with it personally.”
So as long as the album is selling and fans are out there with mad love to give, an appropriate response would be, forget the haters and keep making it do what it do.
